power consumption for HA (Z-wave, Insteon,UPB,etc)

I promise I'm not instigating anoter debate on the merits/disadvantage of XYZ technology  -- I've read most of the previous chains.

I'm interested in how much power is consumed by the various technologies. We're looking for automation with minimal power usage by the HA devices themselves so that we can make do with smaller solar (PV) panels. One of the reasons we want HA is to disable lights/appliances/etc that aren't needed to conserve juice.

Anyone know?

I remember somewhere reading that Insteon is only a few mA of current. Most people say if yo can afford the switches the electric consumption will never kill ya.
You mention PV so you point is justified. I will try to find a link of two and post again if I find something.
