Everyone,

My dad is getting ready to retire and we want to start working on some remote monitoring and control. I have some experience with the cai webcontrol board, but not much else. I could really use some help pointing me in the right direction as far as products go.

The idea is to monitor 2 sump pumps and a garage door. The sump pumps need water level sensors and run time monitoring. Last year one of the pumps hung and ran dry which killed it. I was hoping to find a way to monitor if it is running or not. The water level sensor seems fairly straight forward.

Monitoring the garage door and have the ability to open or close it would be ideal.

I could really use some help finding the right products. Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance

There are people posted how they use WebControl to monitor and control the sump pump in this forum already. Basically, you have to have a sensor for water level at each pump. Then have a relay board to control the pump on or off. If your relay board has four relays, you can use two for two pumps, and one for the garage door. What would you use to control the garage door open and close? You can use web interface, or use other sensor or even wiring a RFID board as input to WebControl.

In the past, Lou had recommended this pressure sensor to wiring with WebControl monitoring the sump pump water flow:

Lou said if pump was not pumping water, this sensor would be able to output signal, which would be detected by WebControl Analog input. Then the WebControl could power off the pump.
You do need to have a water sensor to detect the water level. When the water level reached to your high water mark, WebControl can power on the pump.
