Rain8

Anybody have any suggestions for planning and implementing a sprinkler system that includes HA control? I have been looking for free software that helps with layout design and then recommends the materials to buy. I would then like to rent the machine that vibrates the line into the ground (saw it on This Old House). And finally, I would want to control it with something like Rain8 and maybe go with Rain8 UPB.

Look at Hunter Sprinkler Systems. They have a Home Layout & Design Handbook that you can download and it is very helpful.

And some grid paper here.

Wow, sprinkler systems seem to be this week's theme here on CocoonTech!

The WGL Designs Rain8 systems offer excellent control for conventional 24 VAC valves. They also offer an internal timer which will shut the valves off after a set amount of time (in case the HA system looses control after an ON command was sent).

Printed the Hunter manual and will read it this weekend. I also have to decide whether I can work with my existing lawn. If not, I will not be able to afford new lawn and sprinkler system. I need to work on my weed control and correct unevenness. To male the lawn more even, I have slowly been using a spade to pull section of lawn back and then adding or removing dirt. Works good but lawn is big.
