RCS TR40 RS485 HVAC thermostats on ebay

Dealtree (a BestBuy brand) appears to be unloading a number of RCS TR40 RS485 HVAC thermostats on ebay. I believe this unit has been discontinued (replaced by TR60), but it previously sold for $200+. I have been watching these for a few days, and they have gone for between $47 and $93 on ebay with most going in the low $60's (plus tax, but free shipping). The listings that I have seen indicate that these are new units.

Just search on RCS and you will pull the items up. As of this posting, there were a total of 13 listings across those two stores. They seem to add new listings of this item shortly after old listings are sold.

I think you'll be ok ... it looks like they have a ton of these things! It does look like they are starting to release some used ones, though.

I've picked up two over the last couple of days. I already have a TR-16 which I use in my house and have it tied into CQC. These prices are so cheap that I picked up two more. I'm going to swap out my TR-16 with a TR-40 and then give the TR-16 and TR-40 to my parents. They can put the TR-16 downstairs where they don't need all that information being reported on the thermostat display.

I don't remember the exact differences between the TR-40 and the TR-60. There are a couple of things, but nothing earth shattering from what I remember. The TR-16 and TR-40 have a really nice feature set and do just about anything. The CQC RCS driver is full featured as well (link to info page. It was implemented much better than some of the other controllable thermostats out there.
