Hi all, first time poster here. We are moving to Dallas into a new house that, sadly, lacks any structured wiring. Having always been a renter, we've always been limited to TVs cable boxes, one surround sound setup, and wireless internet. I am an HTPC enthusiast from way back and am salivating over the prospects of getting a CETON cable card tuner running into my 8 terrabyte media center, potentially distributed in its 1080p glory to various tvs throughout the house.
Now with a 6800 sf house (with 5-6 potential media zones, and a prebuilt home theater) I only a few spare bucks, and I want a distributed AV s/ automation system that is sufficiently flexible that as I can add to as I have more time and money. I'd lilke to do something along the lines described above, and have seen one simple system here that accomplished this with several centralized xbox 360s running hdmi signal to tv (and control signal) over ethernet. I believe the hdmi to ethernet converter was sold by HDTV supply.
Is there anyone who has experience with this type of system? Any recommendations for a A/V contractor in Dallas?
thanks
