This is certainly going to sound like a silly question - what is the difference between WC8 and WC32?
I did search the net and CAI website and did not find a different board WC32? I just ordered another WC8 and would need more in the future

I'll let the CAI folk give you the gory details but basically it is a higher powered version of the original WC.

But how about some program just capturing get.cgi results (like 192.xxx.xx.xxx.getT1.cgi) and have that result added to a database?
I am now trying to learn a little about asp.net since I have MS expression web, but the learning curve is drastic.
I am also looking into Access, but the web connection bit is also pretty steep learning curve, but at least I had database programming experience about 15 yrs ago with FoxPro. Obviously computer/ electronics is not my profession

I was asking for https, not e-mail. But its a good thing that e-mail is now better protected with the WC32

Hi, my software could for sure write the data grabbed to a DB. I just don't have the time programming the software just now.
And, the txt files generated could also be loaded into a DB. Just as it can be exported to excel as is.

Could anyone explain to me how to get the value of http://admin:[email protected]/gett1.cgi saved to a variable in either VB/ Access or HTML/PHP? Once I know this is possible, with the software I own, then I can research a bunch from there.

You can try wget command, passing the Based64 encrypted password, you can access almost all the variables.  If you wget the
http://ip-address/api/status.xml, you can parse that result to get every value you wanted.

I've been searching the web like crazy, and decided I don't even know how to word my search in techincally appropriate terms to get a decent result.
 
what would be an appropriate search expression to say "when I put this cgi script into my browser I get a result, how do I ask the same inside a program"?
 
LarsK - I do appreciate being able to download your program, but since it is exe it probably will not allow me to see the code
