Embarassing, but driving me nutz...I have seen it a couple of times thru the years, and resolved it. For the life of me, I can not remember the cause (or the fix)! This is the infamous select an MP3 and Premise runs thru everything in the album/folder problem...Does anybody remember what the cause is? And most importantly, what the fix is?

Hi Chuck,

For me that happens when the source music files are unavailable to Premise. On my system, the music files are on a shared network drive, and that happens either when the server is offline OR I am low on memory on the Premise Server (it seems reading the info on the music take a lot of memory and will sometimes fail under low memory conditions). It's probably overkill, but I usually make sure my music server is up and then restart the premise system and that always resolves it for me.

Hope this helps.

Brian

This has happened to me when the files were corrupted in some way. Or when I was experimenting with different file formats (WMA, M4A, etc.). If the system can't play the file, Premise will skip over it.

Bing, bing, bing!! For both of you!!! As I have talked about previously, I run Premise on Windows Home Server (WHS). WHS has an odd problem - it will point to files that are missing, the files appear to be there, until you try to play 'em. And Premise will pick up the files (even if they aren't there). Last week we had a meltdown, or so it seemed. I got everything put together (or so I thought)...having rebuilt the videos and photos, I forgot the music share!

And the prize goes to.....

thanks, guys! :(
