Stand alone dvr

Hi,

I have mostly 480 cams and have the usa dvr that I can not get any tech support for. The one time they did answer after many calls, the tech even gave me his personal cell number with a promise to answer for the other issues that needed to be resolved. Well after many calls over months no replies from him or the company just as before. Any opinions good or bad on the 16 CHANNEL ELITE SERIES? My bro has one that works good and they have good support other than they would not allow an agreed return for a new model because he sent it back without original packing.
Thanks!

Are you referring to the IC Realtime Elite or another manufacturer?

If you're hitting technical issues with a stand alone setup I have to wonder if you're not too complex?

My experience has been great with the General Solutions DVRs but that's because they are a PC based unit that's packaged like a stand alone. Even companies that once focused exclusively on standalone security products are carrying the DigOp and GS products because they work so well.

The price is probably not what you were looking for but when I see someone wasting money on products they don't use it's hard to feel bad suggesting a more expensive solution.

I'll look around and see if I can find a good comparison of the different units, but even at like $5k, they aren't that 'overpriced'. Your time should be worth some money if you have assets that need DVR protection? ;)

Some info on "what" was giving you trouble might also help people suggest something that will make you happy?

we have tested the viewmaster to support it in our mobile phone apps as you can see from our compatibility list
TC Compatibility List

all i can say is from the mobile side their jpg streams are similarly to other manufacturers back east...at least the viewmaster has a real jpg stream and isn't mpg4/h264 trying to pretend that it works on iphone via jpg like others do which is bs and physically impossible.

have no experience with the Elite series though. can't help you there.

personally support would be my main issue with these entry level dvr. they are a dime a dozen on entry level specs so support will become the major factor for me at least if i was interested in purchasing one.
