Structured Wiring Cans Compatible with Elk Brackets?

Are there any other structured wiring cans that have pre-drilled holes for mounting Elk brackets like the ELK-SWP3 and ELK-SWS? Does Elk use any type of standard (Leviton)? I’m trying to find a 42†can that I don’t have to drill. I picked up an OnQ but the hole spacing is different.

Thanks!

I have several Channel Vision 50" cans which accept the ELK-SWP3 and other modules just fine.

Leviton will accept SWP. But the SWS is a different beast, it needs to be modified to use in a standard can (there are tabs that need to be clipped off). I use the Leviton battery shelf. BTW not all Elk cards fit the SWP either (PD9, M1XEP). I use Leviton security strips for these, but they are kinda pricey. You can also find other standard brackets that let you screw into them with self tapping screws.

I use Channel Vision and Leviton cans, and both work with teh Elk stuff. For any items that don't mount in standard holes, I use the Channel Vision mounting plates.

The Channel Vision mounting plates are a good option, for any items that don't snap in. Self-tapping sheet metal screws work well, into the CV plates. You can pick up some short ones at HD/Lowes.

Screwing directly into the rear of the enclosure, though, is much cheaper than buying the plates. Self-tapping screws eliminate the need to drill.

Fancy, drill-like tip.

Using this type of screw, though, gives you a tiny flake of metal that you must be careful not to let drop into an open port/connector, or into/onto an open board. I just taped a sheet using painting tape, to cover my switch and modem below. Quick and easy.

I believe they change this. The new ones just use 3 of the snap pins. They work great in a CV can.
