I was really liking this Haiku app for my iphone but now have the samsung galaxy s4, I downloaded the trial of superlink and it never worked right so I was not about to try to see if the full version worked for $39. Anyone know of any other options to control the HAI using an android?
And I know about snaplink but it doesnt do notifications as far as I know and it has really bad reviews.
thanks

Sorry we don't have an Android version, but you can use HaikuHelper running on a Mac from an Android device. You can even create a custom UI for your phone if you like if you are familiar with standard web technologies.

OK I have Haikuhelper already running on my mac. But how exactly do I configure the android to control the HAI?

I think the general answer is to open a web browser on your new android device to the HH web interface on port 9399.  If you know enough you could even create a mobile-specific web page.

Nope... Apple notifications (which is what Haiku Uses) is iOS only.

You could use Growl on the Mac running HaikuHelper, and then configure it to send notifications to your phone using the email-to-text address it has.  Not nearly as integrated or slick.

Actually, it is possible to setup notifications for Android using the scripting feature. You can also receive them via SMS or e-mail.

uuuurgh... I wish sooooooo bad you guys would develop haiku for android... I cannot beleive you are able to make a 1000% better interface than the manufacturer app... the snaplink is the worst thing ever when you see what haiku can do... you guys should develop directly for leviton or sell all development to them ! I am pretty sure with leviton now on board, things would move differently.

Any chance we get the haikuhelper for windows or it is in the same position as with android os ?

by the way, I have absolutely no clue how you were able to include the "room" feature in haiku as I have never see this describe in any protocol on the web (even on the hai website)... sorry a little off topic here...

Feel free to submit your feedback to HAI/Leviton. We'd be happy to work with them on bringing Haiku and HaikuHelper's tech to other platforms and have received this suggestion many times before -- who knows :)

You can try Superlink. I used it a while back, wasn't bad. Definitely better than Snaplink.
I bought superlink and its great when it works but like me if you have the galaxy S4 it freezes the phone constantly so i constantly have to force close and restart it

Ah bummer, wasn't aware of that problem. Like I said, I haven't used it in a while since Elve came out with a (sort of) Android app. I was able to make my own interface and have been using that since.

Beleive me, I'm pushing a lot on my regional rep to make things move on your side. I am not even sure if they are aware of what HAIKU and HAIKUHELPER can really do... there are no other apps that can match what you have done up to now... not that I know of...

You guys even develop things in HAIKU that is not even released in the latest omni-link II protocol v3.0 (like the room feature).

I think things will move differently with Leviton (that's what I understood from my regional rep). He told me that there will be programming engineer available and even PC access is supposed to get a lot of revision fixes.

I would encourage other to do the same with their reps and push HAIKU to the next level and other platforms.

Oh, and receiving a suggestion many time means there is demand for it ! Just saying !

Why would you need HAI to get involved at all? Just develop it for Android on your own, it's your app.

Because there are no plan for Nullriver to develop Android base devices. They only do ios... for the moment... I hope...

So having software engineer from Leviton, who already have the team because they released snaplink, could then do the work and continue what Nullriver has started but for other platform... but that's my opinion.

If Nullriver is not interested in developping for Android, who will ? So by teaming with Leviton, it might be the answer...

We need HAIKU for other platform...
