TR40-485 Thermostat?

Quick question:

I assumed that I'd need the RCS TR40-232 thermostat version that would integrate with an ELK-M1XSP. But I was reading the Elk FAQ's (http://m1dealer.elkproducts.com/index.php?module=faq&FAQ_op=viewFAQs&MMN_position=3:3) and it sounds like I might be able to use the TR40-485 version as well.

Can I use the TR40-485 thermostat?

If so, do I still need a ELK-M1XSP for it?

If not, could you highlight how I'd connect the ELK M1 485 bus?

In order to use any thermostat (which includes the TR40-485) with the M1, I think that you will need the ELK-M1XSP. Detailed installation instruction of the M1XSP and different thermostats can be found using on the elk website http://www.elkproducts.com/pdf/M1XSP_Light...rt_Expander.pdf

FYI, the RCS TR40-232 thermostat was discontinued a couple of years ago.
