Encino, CA - February 16, 2009 - Universal Devices is proud to announce the release of firmware version 2.7.0 for their popular line of home automation and energy conservation controllers. The ISY is designed to be the center of your automated home, offering complete programming, monitoring and control of your Insteon lighting, thermostat, motion sensor, IR and I/O devices. Programming your Insteon devices couldn't be easier - creating even complex scenes is astonishingly simple with the ISY's drag and drop interface.

Need more intelligence than standard Insteon modules provide? Use the ISY's simple programming interface to create advanced timers, triggers and events based on the status of your devices, time of day, and even local weather conditions.

The ISY's built-in IR interface allows you to control your entire home with a simple universal remote control. The ISY is also X10 compatible, opening up a whole world of low-cost devices that you can integrate into your home - motion sensors, keychain remotes, flood lights, and much more.

Use the ISY's built-in secure web interface to monitor, control, and even make changes to your home's automation from anywhere in the world. Or, take it a step further and host your own personal web site and web applications right on the ISY with the optional Web Server Module!

Utilizing the ISY for energy conservation couldn't be easier - the ISY allows full control over your lighting levels and thermostats based on time of day, occupancy, local weather conditions, status of doors and windows, etc. The ISY also interfaces with Brultech's home energy meters for real-time monitoring of energy use in your home. Is your current energy use too high? Set the ISY to automatically adjust your lighting to bring energy consumption down to a more reasonable level.

Support for the popular Elk M1 security system allows you to arm and disarm your security system from the ISY's secure web interface. The Elk can also control your Insteon devices right through the ISY via Ethernet - eliminating your Elk's Insteon PLC and tap-tap linking in favor of the far more robust ISY.

The ISY's Notification feature can alert you, via email or SMS text message, when important events occur at your home. Never come home to frozen water pipes or an unexpected open garage door again.

There are ISY drivers available for popular home automation applications such as CQC, MainLobby, HomeSeer and mControl. Developers can also utilize the ISY's Java SDK, Web Services (WSDK), and REST interface to create their own applications or integrate the ISY with an existing application.
