UPB switches outdoors

Has anyone had experience mounting UPB switches outdoors? I want to control my outside patio lights with my home automation but the only switches for these lights are outside. I thought I can mount a UPB in a weatherproof box. I know the UPB switches state they are not for outdoor use. I am in So Cal where there will not be any freezing or temp extremes to worry about.

I have UPB switches in outdoor locations working flawlessly for over two years. I live in So. Cal. also.

As long as rain doesn't get in you should be OK.

I guess I should have added that the switches are in approved outdoor boxes.
