UPB timers

All of the major UPB providers appear to have UPB Controller/Timers. Does anyone know if they are all functionally the same? If not, what are the differences?

Thanks.

I have used the PCS and SA timers, and I have played with the Web Mountain TIM-01.

The PCS timer seen here works within UPStart but only has 20 timers available. Requires UPStart to set up and change timers. Also on the expensive side.

The SA timer seen here can hold 100 timers with both on and off features for each timer. It is fairly easy to learn and takes only seconds to set up a timer AND test. I like this one alot. I have the PCS timer and the SA timer working in homes for almost 2 years with not problems.

TIM-01 seen here Seems to be very powerful and with that somewhat complicated to setup and use. It takes 2 timers to turn on and off a load(unlike the SA unit) . Some of its features are: buttons on the face can be programmed to operate a timer; It can receive links therefor timers can be started by upb links. With this you can turn on a scene/link, and at a set time something else can happen, such as the link can turn off or another link can come on. You can have multiple timers happen from the same start link. I have a friend that uses it to turn on and off his studio equipment in order so he only has to push one button.

Dave is correct about the differences b/w SA timer and Web Mtns. I personnally have been very happy with the Web Mtn timer and find it very easy to set-up especially after doing it a few times, you get real fast at it.

The Hardware is the same but the software is a bit different in that the noise immunity is with the Web Mtn one only. Also from what I hear they are very close to a new switch with all the functionality of the SA units.

Nothing against anyone though I will say that the support you might need will be as important to Web Mtn as it is to you if that time comes. They are quick to respond and have plenty of knowledge on the intracacies of their product.

Thanks for the input all. I was able to dig into some of the documents and one thing I noted that differentiated WM from SAI was that it appears that WM can only send and receive links while SAI can control devices directly along with links. SAI cannot receive a link to drive additional timer related tasks but WM can.

In the end, I was able to get Premise to recognize my various devices and have some incredible control compared to these timers. Need to get up to speed with all the options but i can do much more than the timers can even with the basic knowledge that I now have with Premise.

Thanks again.
