Using a tone generator to troubleshoot audio and video issues

I was surfing the web and came across this article on Home Toys that talks about using a tome generator set to troubleshoot sound and video.

I will definately be keeping this one in my bag of tricks.


Does anyone else have any unusual tricks the can share?

I have used the tracer to detect data on PTZ data lines. Listen for the buzzing sound when controlling the camera. Useful when troubleshooting fiber transmitters.
