I just switched to Verizon from Sprint. I may have missed out on the unlimited data, but with the new shared plans, it's actually slightly cheaper than existing Sprint family plans. I'm was also mad at Sprint as wimax never came to my area as promised. I went from mostly 200 kbps - 1100 kbps download to 25909 kbps download, 4072 kbps upload!

Too bad this was taken a mile from my house...

I can repeat the 45000 kbps result, but I live in a rural area. I never thought that in SC the internet could be so fast. All those wasted years with Sprint. Too bad I didn't switch when the plans were unlimited.

Most likely because more people are now using it ;)

iostream212 - what part of town were you in when you got those speeds?

What sort of performance are you seeing around your house? And have you tried using it during our horribly annoying extended power outages we get about twice/year? I know AT&T is useless during those.

Just curious - I live in the same community as you, but I gave up my Verizon and Sprint 4G cards more than a year ago so I haven't gotten to do any good testing out here.

I got that at 65 and Pleasant Grove in Roseville. At home in Lincoln I barely get a 4g signal. On a good day i think 5mb/s is normal at home. I tested right before posting this and was pulling 200kb/s with one bar 4g. Yikes! I am not sure about the power outages. I can only remember two or three in the five years I have been here. I'm in Lincoln Crossing and all the power is run underground. It is pretty rare to get one here unless something goes down farther up the supply line.
