Weather web sites

Now have a 5.7e touchscreen on my Omni Pro II setup and I have also purchased a copy of Automation Studio to help me do some edits to the touchscreen display. Have not had a chance to do a deep dive yet into what I can actually do with Automation Studio but the training material I have seen from HAI suggests that I can create a page on my touchscreen that will display a web site. I think it would be a snapshot of the page at the time I hit on it....not live motion. I would like to use that capability to display current weather conditions from one of the web sources that displays weather (Weather.com, Weather underground, etc). The problem I think I will have is that those web pages are sized for a normal web page on a computer and they are loaded with adds and other fluff that I do not need or want and would not display in a readable fashion on a small touchscreen anyway.

Does anyone know of a way to deal with this? All I want is the current weather conditions (temperature, wind, etc) and perhaps a forcast for next 24-48 hours. Any sources for simple info without all the fluff?

You can sign up at the Weather Channel too for free. It's an xml feed as well, and you would have to do the work.

Not sure this would work. The XML download is targeted for a computer that can run an application to display the info. However, the touch screen is not a computer where I can write & run applications that I control thus I do not see how this would work. Need a web source that does all the info manupliation and then displays it in a web page that I can grab directly.

Other than Homeseer / MainLobby / CQC that can grab the XML and can manipulate it and display it (potentially even on your HAI display), no other configurable app comes to mind that does what you are asking.

You might look at the three solutions as overkill for weather, but of course weather is only the tip of what you can do after that first project.
