Just wondering what others use for drawing up documentation. Obvious choices are various versions of CAD or perhaps Powerpoint (probably not a _good_ choice but still an option). Currently I want to do wiring between TV, cable box, audio amp, etc. If anyone has some good examples that would be great too.
What do you use to draw up wiring diagrams?

I use Adobe Illustrator. If I already have a set of plans I can just scan them in and then overlay my info.

I agree with Dan.
At our office we use Visio.
At home I have AutoCad 2004-2008. I Personally feel AutoCAD is a more detailed program for designing wiring closet diagrams. It is a very large program with a very large instruction manual. Visio is a similar program, with a slightly smaller instruction manual.
If you're planning on staying with wiring enclosure designs, i would suggest Visio.
If in the future you might like to venture into other type of design, like structural design, 3D design, etc. I would suggest investing in an autoCAD program.
If you're looking to save money, you can purchase an older version of AutoCAD, as the main design element doesn't change too drastically through the years. The features only get better each version.

Visio works great for me, for room diagrams. I get a big discount on Visio through work. Used to be a 60 day free trial, not sure how long the free trial is now.
