What to do about analog TV

Might get flogged here but I am one of those guys who doesn't have a TV (don't ask). Wired the house for it... We are actually considering getting the TV's out of the basement and hooking them up. I'm confused about what is happening with the whole analog/digital thing and would like to solve this problem once...

If I have analog security camera's will they be able to be displayed or do I need a 'digital modulator' of some sort.
I have a HomeVision system that can overlay messages on analog TV, signals will that be useless?
Will TV's still have analog inputs?
Can I integrate security camera's with something like a SageTV so I can only have one box at the TV?

Sorry for the newby-ish post but I just can't find a diagram or explanation that has boxes and arrows on it explaining how the new stuff works, what old gear is applicable etc... A reference to a good overview would be great!

The FCC has mandated that there will no longer be analog transmissions over the air after 2/09. So if you use an antenna connected to an SD TV or TV without an ATSC tuner you will need a decoder box to convert the signals to baseband analog. If you have cable TV it is now as it always has been entirely up to the service provider as to what services they provide and how.

You text inserted will still have several uses, it can be installed between a digital decoder and the TV, you can modulate from the decoder and insert text.

Baseband composite and Svideo inputs will still be on TVs for some time to come. However all newly imported TVs must have some sort of digital tuner and all existing inventory must be marked with a warning that the device does not contain a digital tuner. As a result the Hauppauge PVR500 will no long be produced and will become limited and greater in value in the future until a straight baseband encoder card hits the scene.

If you have a cable box you are not effected at all.

It is entirely up to the cable company as to what services they provide and how, generally though all premium content is digital and encrypted.

In my local area the cable company is running ads specifically stating they will continue to feed expanded basic cable as they have for an extended period of time.

Your CCTV and text inserted may be used with SageTV either behind a decoder box or directly connected.

Your current "digital" cable box is also currently reling on the analog feeds for basica cable.

In my area QAM allows for 25 total channels most of which are worthless duplicates and 24 hour weather from the major networks. I get ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS and in addition I also get HistoryHD, FoodHD and GolfHD which is kinda sweet for free.
