Where do you have your TTS speakers mounted?

I am installing a separate TTS system for a elkM1 and homeseer setup in a three story home using a amp and
a AB8SS speaker controller.

I am looking for suggestions on the best locations and type of speakers to use.

One on each floor?, garage?, bathrooms?, hallways?, outside entrance? ect.

Wall mount?, ceiling?

Any suggestions or photos would be helpful.

I use active PC speakers (need to add more speakers soon tho), my loudest unit is under my desk in the livingroom. Another good location is on top of the kitchen cabinets, or maybe a a hutch. I also had them behind one of my older TV's at one point, but they are disabled right now.

I have pairs of wall mounted speakers in each of the four bedrooms, upstairs/downstairs foyer, living room, dining room, garage and kitchen. I have heard/read that its better to have them ceiling mounted. I use a serial/x10 device called the AB8SS and Homeseer. I am digitally controlling the volume in about half the rooms with separate digital volume controls. In about half of the rooms I also have local source / HS source Speaker AB switches. IE: All the bedrooms have these AB switches so that my kids or I can go from a bedroom sourced audio to the whole house audio. I used two pair 14 guage shielded wire to get from the basement media panel to the boxes in the rooms. From the boxes I use separate paired 14 guage wires. The B part of the AB8SS is connected to my family room stereo. I am using additional audio amplifiers for the HS sound. I am happy with the setup.

My multimedia - network - video - panel has grown from starting at approximately 2' X 4' to about 8' X 4'.

I used the Elk single-gang ones, and take the output of the CQC PC fed into the Elk-800 amp which drives the speakers. It's both TTS and custom .WAV playback based on events.

I put a bunch around the house, then used Elk relays to turn them on/off. I put them:
1) in the entryway, so I can have a TTS for annoying door people
2) 1 in kids room closet
3) 1 in MBR
4) 1 in kitchen (very central location in the house)
5) 1 in back room (in case TV is on and we can't hear)
6) 1 in backyard patio (this is an Elk waterproof 8ohm outdoor speaker), so I can either TTS or send doorbell.wav there for parties so we know someone is @the door.
7) 1 @the driveway gate, so I can warn folks who open it that the house knows they just opened it, and may release the nerve gas.

I use my pretty GUI to turn them on/off. If you click the icon, it toggles from on/off. There's only 5 shown on this GUI, but it's a little old:
