Where to install ceiling speakers in a dining room?

I pre-wired for audio in our dining room.
Just a small voice here for slience in the dining room. Reason being, it's a place for company, for conversation and for food appreciation. I know, some restaurants have music playing, etc. Well if it's not live music, it's a bad idea as far as I'm concerned. My 2c.

You are correct and I very well may have been using an incorrect term. As mono applies to todays recordings and equipment it is in fact bridging, not familiar with that term but it works for me. B)

With todays sound systems, mono is effectively left and right channels combined together and sent through one channel of a multi channel amplifier to a speaker of whatever quality you want. This gives a cleaner sound to areas that have a lot of movement or that the music is just background, not the main course.

As it turns out I think we're both saying more or less the same thing, just mixing our terms a bit. :)

I agree, the dining room is not the place for music to shine. It's why I used 4 mono channels in that room, one in each corner, so the volume could be very low so it enhanced the mood as opposed to setting it.

Oh, I really enjoy having music in the background - on low volume, during meals. At least music that I enjoy.

When I was growing up, we always had the TV on, during meals - the evening news. Maybe that explains a few things...

Instrumental music, (that I have chosen,) on low volume, during a meal with friends, is awesome, IMO. I'm really picky about my music. I feel it can heighten (or detract from) the mood, depending on the choice of music.

My music collection is the Soundtrack of My Life.

Can anyone tell I'm itching for a new distributed audio system? :)
