Wireless receiver not in Send/Rcv "update" list

man it's been a long time since i did this, which is probably a good sign, but i went to update the firmware on the Elk wireless receiver, and it doesn't appear in my "update controls" list in the send/rcv box. that's where the release notes claim it should be listed.

Very odd since my wireless keyfob does actually works, I just used it.

Any ideas? It wont let me update the firmware since it says "no updates available" even though I extracted the file correctly, as it doesn't think I have the wireless receiver.

I'm on ElkRP 1.6.24 if that means anything.

What O/S is RP on and where did you put the upgrade files? They used to be in ElkRP\Updates but now they go elsewhere depending on O/S. Sounds like maybe you don't have the update file in proper directory so RP does not see an upgrade? Quote from Spanky...

When you update ELKRP, the data base files for Vista will be placed under "Program Data\RP". When updating to XP the data base files will be placed in "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\RP". This change was made to conform to the Windows standards. An updated ELKRP should do all the changes automatically, but if you can not find a file in a data base, make sure the "Settings" in ELKRP point to the right data base file location and do a "File/Open Database" to find it.

IVB,
Next week there should be a new M1XRF2G RF Receiver update, God willing that the Beta testers don't find any problems!

It includes a new GE Wireless software decoder that enhances the receiver. There will be a new M1 upgrade also with some new features.

cool, yeah i got the beta note but life has gotten busy so I opted not to install it.

I did remembe that I put the acccounts.mdb out on a fileshare so I can access it from any of several PCs, would the updates files also go on that then?

IVB, are you not able to see the hardware or not able to see the firmware file in the update screen? If RP doesn't show the hardware, then that has nothing to do with the file paths.
