Wireless RS232 with Omnistat or Aprilaire

Anybody have any experience with thermostat communications via wireless serial?

Here is the scenario 3 different thermostats, 3 HVAC units, no pulling of cables. The problem is that these devices share the same serial bus and the automation server can only communicate via 1 serial port address or ip redirect. Z-wave and Zigbee are not options at the moment.

Hooking 1 thermostat via wireless rs232 seems simple enough but 2 or more becomes a problem when you can't run new cabling.

You'll need to buy six of those:

plus an RS232 PCI adapter:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16815124017
(one more if one serial port in your motherboard is used, although you might want to purchase more, so that you'll have more room for additional RS232 adapters.)

This makes up to 3 thermostats.

However, with Bluetooth, I'm not sure how reliable the RS232 communication will be over wireless, despite ~300 feet, as claimed by thetwistergroup's website. Those Bluetooth devices are not cheap, though.

I really don't think this will provide me the solution I'm after. First I can't add an additional pci card to the automation server because the manufacturer (Cortexa) would have to add the driver. Second and correct me if I am wrong but I don't beleive that 3 of these bluetooth adapters can be configured to act as one device address.

Thank you for the reply.
