Wireless sensor inside metal mailbox

Would like to add a wireless door or window sensor to my mailbox to monitor when the door is opened for mail delivery. Mail box is a heavy metal mounted inside a brick column. No way to mount it on the exterior so it would need to be mounted inside the metal mailbox. Would need to transmit about 75 ft to reach the receiver. Will it work or will the metal mailbox kill the range too much?

PS...exerything else in my house is hard wired so I do not have any wireless system yet. However, I do have a few other wireless applications I would probably add if my mailbox application is OK. Rest of my system is based on an Omni Pro II so I would probably lean toward the HAI wireless setup unless it would not satisfy my mailbox application.

I would have to say your mileage may vary depending on the brand and frequency.

you could always mount it in a small PVC conduit box (of sorts) on the back of the Brick depending on the look and how well you can conceal it.

You'd have to drill through the back of the box and through the brick though.
