When we designed and built our new house I thought we had covered all the bases as far as structured wiring, coax, etc. As it turns out the planned spot for the TV in the bedroom, which has power, 2 CAT5, and coax, hidden in the floor, doesn't have a high enough WAF. There is a wall that could take a TV on an angled mount, but, of course, there is no wire in the wall. I can fish in power up the inside of the wall from an outlet near the floor on that wall. No easy way to get a CAT A5 or other line there.
I have been looking at several wireless TV exenders but not with great success. It would be ideal to hook up my matrix switcher to a wireless device that could send it to a (inconspicuous) receiver on the TV.
I was also looking at having a PC output wirelessly to it. Among other products, I found this:
http://www.netgear.com/home/products.../XAVB5501.aspx
and http://www.netgear.com/home/products...s/PTV1000.aspx
and http://www.netgear.com/home/products.../WNCE2001.aspx
I am sure there are other vendors.
Any experience? And what about the powerline device? Does it interfere with UPB?
