Oh and I'm not really sure about that transformer thing it's in a box called a T-Vent enclosure with a Honeywell transformer and a Hawkeye 708 in there as well.
Mine obviously looked differently - but I only used 3 wires between my furnace and the control unit. 24V, Heat and Cool if I remember right... Sorry - not sure this helps you any...
