Wiring Kidde SM120 into HAI Omnpro

Hi Folks, hoping to get some advice on the best way to wire up a SM120 into my omnipro.  I realize some of the risks associated with the SM120 (particularily in the event of a 120V power failure) but this will be used to compliment existing 4wire 12V smokes (possibly crosszoning).    I was going to simply wire into any zone across Zone+ and Zone - with EOL resister and config zone for Fire.  Curious about operation in this configuration versus Z1- Z4 wired (with one side to Switched 12V) and Switch set to Smoke (or not).  I apologize in advance for asking a question that ay have been answered many times before but I spent a considerable amount of time searching the forums B4 posting and just couldn't find an answer,

Thanks,

Wondering if you ever did this? Going against some recommendations, I used the SM120x tied to the Omni Pro to be alerted if my smokes went off. Unfortunately did this is after an EVENT... Over the holidays, my dog decided to reach up on the stove to get a piece of leftovers and kicked on the gas range burners. For 5 hours, the burner was on and completely burnt to a crisp a hunk of pork roast. The house was filled with smoke. Having done this earlier would have saved me from some serious smoke remediation. Fortunately I still have a house and through the remediation it no longer stinks of smoke. While doing this professionally might not be wise, if it is your home, it may be worth doing until you can do it right. Thanks
