wiring to Elk speaker/microphone boxes

Hi there,
Can I use 22/4c wire successfully to hook up the Elk Speaker/Microphone boxes?
or Cat5/6...
I'm wondering if I need to use a different guage for the speakers.

I would use a minimum of 18 AWG for the speakers. Mic should be 22 AWG UTP, however I usually prefer to use STP for 2 way audio.
