Panel 3 is mounted right beside Panel 2. It contains 2 M1DBH data bus hubs as I decided to homerun cables for the distributed components. The two unconnected Cat 5E cables go to the garage and from there to the greenhouse and are for expansion of the system to that space. The right side of the box holds output expanders mounted vertically with Elk components. Currently they are wired to control connections to strobe warning lights and to the speakers enabling specific announcement to areas of the house by rule. For example, a notification that the toddler's door has been opened at night goes only to her parents. A P212S, battery, and surge suppressor supply power to Panels 2 and 3. The Elk transformer is mounted further back in the cabinet and low voltage wiring (actually thermostat wire) brings power to the cabinet. Bringing house 120 VAC to the cabinets would have created problems with access. It is a small and awkward space that sits above a stairwell to the downstairs. This panel is also lighted with LED lighting in the cabinet.
