Integrating older HAI Omni II

I have an older Omni II with a single serial port, no Ethernet. I use it basically now as a simple security panel. I don't have a land line phone any more so I don't have any way to receive event notifications as I previously had programmed. 
 
I've read through a lot of the threads here and most all of them reference the Pro model with network connectivity. Is there any way to connect my Omni through it's serial port to work with Smartthings or any other system where I can get some sort of notification system going?
 

Check out tigers project.  http://cocoontech.com/forums/topic/26641-arduino-and-omni-pro-ii-via-serial-first-working-code/ He connects a Arduino to an Omni Pro II via a serial connection.  Although he is connecting to an OP II, you can still use this project to connect to an Omni controller.  Both controllers use the same Omni Link serial protocol Revision 2.12.  A description of the protocol can be found at http://kb.homeauto.com/redirfile.asp?id=342

An Easy Button way to integrate to your serial Omni II is to purchase an old Homeseer 2 embedded XPe Hometroller Pro.  The HAI plugin was included in the Pro versions.  It's been about two years ago that I sold one for around $75 or so. 
 
It came with a CF Card boot drive and you can update it to an SSD drive to make it a bit faster.  No real horsepower though was needed for the old plugin.
