Thats great too hear.
I think if licensing is not an issue then I too would prefer to use a VM to host CQC.
Backups and snapshotting are done by one of our systems administrators so if I did screw anything up it is great to know I can simply roll back the server to before I made any changes...
Thanks Work2Play we do that for some machines I have just found it to be a little unreliable.
We hard-set a VM MAC but the license was still having issues, I'm not sure if the license was looking at something other than the MAC address too.
You are right though I would much rather use...
"The physical machine I could use has 16 G Ram and 4 Core CPU so would definitely do the job"
Those are the specs for the spare physical machine I have.. The host for VMware is an enterprise ESX host. Sorry for the confusion

I live in Australia and work as a buildings automation engineer.
My home setup consists of a Ness (elk) M1 Gold integrated with x-10 for the lighting.
I have "modified" a number of remote controls so I can control my...
Not that I have ever been able to find unfortunately, but you should be able to see whether there was an " Area Alarmed" Log entry which will tell you if the alarm was set or not..
