New Omnitouch 7 firmware release v 1.15 but no release notes available.   I'm guessing mostly Bitwise updates since that seems to be the push now, but wondering if there is anything related to the OP or adding more of the missing features?

Anyone see the release notes yet?

I updated one unit in our lab and see the OT7 icon names (Security, Lighting, Macro, Temperature) still do not match the names in SnapLink (Status, Control, Buttons, Temps)

Looks like the Rooms issue has been fixed

Seeing a problem where the new firmware makes the OT7 more susceptible to locks from daily internal network scans.  Have an installation with a need to reboot the OT7 with firmware 1.15 daily, but other OT7s with 1.14 rarely.  Black screen, unresponsive, no ability to restart other than to turn off PoE.

WHOOPS!   ::::::::::::::::::   I previously reported in December the "Rooms" issue was fixed, but that returned once the OP was updated to 4.0b, so I guess "technically" the 1.15 update did not truly solve the duplicated rooms issue.  Of course, release notes might confirm what Leviton did to the OT7, but they don't seem to understand how software releases work in the real world.

  • Still no support for H.264/ONVIF/RTSP cameras and cameras are limited to very low resolution at 640x480.
  • Still a lot of wasted left-hand space in a couple of categories.
  • Still unfriendly swiping in Lighting (which also includes devices not necessarily lighting).  A light bulb is used to represent everything
  • It would be cool if we could increase the density of category icons on the screen using PC Access to see more categories on one screen rather than having to scroll the Home Page right to left to see a couple more items (especially given how large the margins are on the top and bottom of the home page).
  • Homepage has no daily weather forecast visible, no temps visible
  • No ability to assign which room or categories show on which OT7 (much needed feature) via PC Access, etc...  Imagine an OT7 in a specific location with only categories that applied to that location or room.
  • No user level security - either all or limited, but similar to the last suggestion, limiting features by user ID or location could be of high value.  Why would a child need access to the downstairs thermostat controls, but would be cool to offer access to lighting in that room and intercom, where changing the logged in user would open additional controls for convenience.  In an office, why show front office lighting controls to the mailroom clerk, when the mailroom only needs limited access to specific features in that location.
  • No ability to send messages OT7 to OT7.
  • No SIP to SIP calling between OT7 to OT7, or other SIP devices without having a SIP phone system or VoIP provider. The SIP client that Leviton is currently using within the OT7's is capable of support SIP direct calling without need of a PBX.

Seems like the wish list is being ignored and fixes are unknown/limited over extended periods of time. Would be nice to see fixes released more quickly and wants released more than once in a couple of years.

Firmware 1.15 was supposed to have added new functions and resolved the following;

  • New Feature: OT7 Limitation - would not show video preview for 2N Door Stations on more than (4) OT7's
  • New Feature: Added Ring Volume Control for Intercom on OT7
  • New Feature: Review Trouble Conditions on OT7
  • Resolved: Wake Lock Issue (was not resolved on some OT7's, see firmware version 1.16 for this fix)
