Solar Power Design Suggestions

EL34, I saw those charge controllers from MorningStar. I purchased a cheaper PWM type (4.5 amp) to try it out.

After a lot of reading and talking with varioius vendors I decided on this charge controller though for my project:

MorningStarr SunSaver 15 Amp MPPT, SS-MPPT-15

It's an "MPPT" type which is supposed to give superior performance to the tune of 30% over PWM type controllers (of course you pay for this in their increased cost).

How did you calculate your load/charge? How many hours of daylight did you use?

I've never used these for Solar, but I have used these with AC:

Highly recommended for use with batteries, and charging them!
