I spent multiple days talking to ELK about my problems with counters. I even bought a new M1G after they said it must be a hardware problem with my 7 year old M1.
This was with firmware 5.3.10. I never had a problem with 5.2.10 but had to upgrade when i got a new ethernet module.
The new...
I have one in the exact situation you have. 900 foot uphill. I found that I had to place the receiver on an outside wall (receiver is inside). When it was in my wiring closet, it was not 100% reliable.
Thanks.
They connect to 3 separate zones on an M1 gold for the panel. I'll have to look at the current draw to see if I can support the additional power.
There are 5 detectors on 2 zones, and 6 on another. So if the detectors are 35 mAmp during alarm, will all the ones on the zone go...
Thanks. What's a good replacement for these?
I'd rather not have batteries as 4 of these are in 20 foot plus ceilings. They are connected to an ELK m1 gold with 3 separate zones - upstairs, main floor, lower floor.
Thanks
I have 16 ESL-541C smoke detectors which are all about 15 years old.
Do I have to replace the detectors, or can I just replace the chamber using this on amazon (or elsewhere somewhat cheaper)?

The PS "+" and "-" is an input from your litetouch power supply, the SW "+", "-", and "D" are the 3 wires that run too al the switches (getting the power from the power supply).
Are you going to have the Arduino use the same 4 wires?
I was looking at just replacing the switches with something else that talks with a PC and the PC sends commands to the litetouch LC5000 controller to control modules / groups, but I didn't find anything cheap enough that supports a...
What specific 485 adapters are you using on your PC? I'd like to play with this connected to a jandy system and see if I can crack the protocol. Also, is there any documentation on figuring out baud rates and settings?
Thanks.
Can you get and set the clock? If you can, then your cable works.
A new Savant controller should be around $3k, but you should be able to find controllers on ebay for around $800. Unfortunately, those may have their own set of problems.
I heard a rumor that Savant has sold Liteware to...
Try heston technical in kirkland and see if they will do it on a time and materials basis. As they are not an elk dealer, you'll have to supply the m1 and boards.

I have all my speaker cables and control cables (cat-5) run to the same location as my security system. It gives you a bit more flexibility as you can put multiple amps / receivers and balance loads from a single location.
