    Paypal Advice for a Newbie

If you plan on using PayPal regularly I would recommend getting the PayPal Security Key to protect your account. In order to login you have to enter your password and a number on the key that's randomly generated every 30 seconds. Makes your account (almost) impossible to hack.

    DIY Timer?

Thanks for the link, I'll check that out! I was using flashes or small cues in the video to sync them, but when I got my audio recorder, I need an audible cue too. I could use a clap, but figured this would be kindof a neat project to do. I did look at those Pro clapboard from B&H which are...

    DIY Timer?

I do a bit of video filming with multiple cameras at my church sometimes, and I have a hard time syncing everything up. So I was thinking of building my own clapboard (you know, those things that they use in the movies at the start of each scene...) that would allow me to at least sync the...

    Repair defective Insteon switches

I have one SwitchLinc Timer that is failing to turn off using the switch (remote works fine). I might want to try and do the replacement. Anyone got an extra switch or two?

    Distributing Power Question

Thanks for the suggestions, it looks like what Collin recommended is what I need. I'm only planning to have up to 3 LEDs on at a time, so the power usage is very small.

    Distributing Power Question

I'm working on something for my work where 8 different LEDs will be controlled by a piece of equipment. The equipment essentially acts like a switch, connecting the ground side of the LED to the ground of the power supply when the LED is supposed to be lit up. But on the hot side, I'm trying...

    Small Voltage Surge Protection

Thanks for the suggestions. Any idea where I can get those? I checked the website I get most of my electronic parts from (AllElectronics.com) but couldn't find the right parts. I also heard that a Zener Diode (http://www.reuk.co.uk/What-is-a-Zener-Diode.htm) may do the almost the same thing...

    Small Voltage Surge Protection

Thanks for the suggestions. I found a diagram of how the hookup is going to work. I don't know if relays would work with this?

    Small Voltage Surge Protection

I'm working on project that will turn some LEDs on and off. The status of the LEDs will be controlled by a rather expensive piece of equipment essentially opening and closing the circuit. What I would like to do is put something inline before the wires get to the equipment to protect it from...

    X10 signal sucker

I beleive UPSs actually cause more interference. Use a few Filterlincs (http://www.smarthome.com/1626-10.html). They block all the interference. Works perfectly for me.
