HAI / Aprilaire Flush-Mount Temp Sensor

Thanks. I'll take a look. The two mentioned in my post flush-mount and effectively disappear into the wall. The Carrier ones are 4"x4" boxes, surface mounted. Just a preference for a clean look.

HAI / Aprilaire Flush-Mount Temp Sensor

Wondering if anyone knows if either/both of the flush-mount remote temperature sensors for HVAC zoning made by Aprilaire or HAI will work with systems other than these two manufacturers? I'm assuming they are pretty generic, plug-and-play devices, but just wanted to get others' opinions...

    Concord 4 / ELK

Thanks for all the insights. Politics, I'm in Charlottesville if you kinow of anybody that would be fantastic! And to address some of the comments...I purposely excluded any sort of monitoring from my install -- just plan on doing it after the fact. As for the rest of the house, I'm...

    Concord 4 / ELK

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to keep looking at my install options, but keep a self-install in my back pocket. One last question..... are all alarm keypad/sensor wires the same across different platforms. In other words, will I need to spec ELK wiring requirements against the GE? Thanks...

    Concord 4 / ELK

I'm in the midst of a new home construction. I'd like to use the M1 for security and control, but, unfortunately, my installer is not experienced with it and wants to install a GE Concord 4 system. I'm searching for someone who can install the ELK for me -- I just don't have the time to run...

    LiteJet Purchase

I've selected the LiteJet 48 for a new home I am building and am in the process of sourcing the equipment needed for rough-in (2x control panels, and one LVRB). I've looked at purchasing direct from one of the distributors. I'd also like to see what my options are with any Centralite dealers...

    Best Choice for Lighting Control

Brian, The Centralite website is really pretty lame -- can't get at any of this sort of stuff on there. Thank God for this spot... So you're saying that I can control UPB switches with an interface? I assume you mean that one interface can control one switch? Or one interface can control...

    Best Choice for Lighting Control

Yes, that's my reluctance -- just "non-standard" by traditional design. If something better comes along or if PLC gets more reliable (my hunch is based on your signature you would argue that point now), then I have a cat5 behind the switch instead of HV. Interesting point about table lamps /...

    Best Choice for Lighting Control

Thanks for your insights. Sounds like your apprehensions are the same as mine. Meeting with my electrician on Monday, so it's put up or shut up time. The $4500 was an installed price? I've seen $2500 for 24 uninstalled, so just trying to vector in on what's reasonable. Like you, I'm...

    Best Choice for Lighting Control

Thanks for all the comments thus far. After reading the forums for several days now, I think I've got it all figured out and don't need any more help. Yea, right! More confused than ever. I do see the benefit of installing a hardwired system. Reliability and manufacturer longevity being the...

    Best Choice for Lighting Control

I am in the process of building a new home and am trying to sort between the various options for lighting control. Initially, I'm just going to install it in the "family" areas and see how it goes. This will involve about 30 or so loads spread on one floor over about 2500 sq ft. It would be...
