I installed several of the Vegetronix sensors in my vegie patch and while they worked fine in test pots i found that when installed in my vegie garden it would take days before any change in moisture level...These were the VG400 sensors...Which one were you using ??

Clipsal sell a sim module which allows you to talk to CBUS via ttl level rs232...
5000SM/2.....theres been some recent chat on the CBUS forums regarding it...

Clipsal CBUS would be a suitable solution although it is a propriety system....The protocol for their system is available to allow third party control of their system though..

The UK uses the same frequencies (rf wireless stuff) as Oz as far as i know....Wouldnt have a clue where to buy the zwave kit....thought you mentioned there was a Oz distributor...???

You probably can import zwave kit from Europe and the voltage should be the same but if they are plug in modules then they will not fit the Oz power points...

I think one of the UK Homevision guys might be using PLCBUS ....Depending on its pricing it might be an option for you....FYI Clipsal also have wireless modules but they are not cheap and would still require a sparkie to fit them...

Have bought some x10 appliance modules and lamp modules from Envious ...their prices are pretty good...I also use some x10 wireless which talks to my Homevision Controller via a W800 and its homevision plugin...I use x10 palm units for manual control of my garden irrigation..

The U.S voltage is 110v whereas Oz voltage is 240v..Have you got a link to where the guy from sydney bought the zwave kit ???...I believe zwave product is available for Europe which is also 240v....
