I realize this is old. I have 5 doors and I wired 4 doors and the 5th at the end is a slider with a GRI door sensor that has the built-in resistor. it's been flapping at odd times. I was convinced the issue was the gap between the slider and the sensor. I tested it with magnets and it...
So they are on separate zones. There is a jumper on the sensor on how to behave. I tried to link the page to show that it has its own end-of-line resistor wiring leads (its very different) that I don't know if it is inline or parallel. Either way it's behaving like it is safe on both zones -...
Hey guys - I am a former Omnipro guy moved to ElkM1 and for some reason I appear brain dead. I have 2 CO detectors from the same manufacturer installed. One is new and I looked up the wiring and had it all wrong. I have since fixed it but it has a alarm relay type jumper. I couldn't get the...
You were spot on! I had to, in my reconfiguration, renumber my zones and with that, I had some issues. I checked the automation which was the wrong zone which is missing. I think I am fixed up now. Thanks for the excellent help!
I type my code but they persist. Is there a place I have to type the user code? If I type the user code in the "regular" area I think it will try to arm the alarm?
I've pressed * a BUNCH and they still remain :(
Hey guys I am still wrapping my head around how to use this Elk M1. I swear the Omnipro was more intuitive and perhaps it was just using it for longer but I have multiple notices on my keypads I can't get to go away. When I look at the display is scrolls through a couple of messages and I have...
So I called Elk and got a lot of help. I had the wireless receiver on id 2 and the expander input board on id 2 as well. They can't be on the same ID like keypads can. Also, I was told that I can't have the wireless device connected to the bus it needs to be connected to the databus hub.
You can get Martin Jerry Wifi switches on amazon with Tasmota and they're cheap and effective. Tasmota lets you use switches in a 3 or 4 way like setting with device groups. Trust me when you look it over and try it out you will never look back. They are about $20.
yes I don't believe in coincidences but I don't know what's going on in my system. I believe I have all the jumpers properly set now with assistance since I am still new at the Elk stuff.
So I KNEW - that posting would causing it to crap out - and it did this morning :( No idea whats happening. Its the last 3 zones that seemed to have tripped when it happens.
