    Rain Gauge dead...

Well after working with the 1Wire network(s) much of yesterday the rain gauge started working again. So the logic of the situation prevailed. I believe, but don't know for sure, it came alive again after forcing the software to rediscover all sensors several times. Anyway, assuming the...

    Rain Gauge dead...

Im using Michael McSharry's XAP 1Wire interface with Homeseer. It goes through your HB Master Hub, driving 4 circuits. I will download the latest viewer, remove the Rain Gauge so as to isolate it and see what it says. I knew yours was different, so I assume I would order just the electronics...

    Rain Gauge dead...

Eric, My HB rain gauge is not reporting after this mornings thunderstorm. The other sensors on the same 1 wire line (e.g. temp) are reporting and seem to be fine. Some questions: 1. Any (other) way to confirm the rain gauge is really dead? 2. Asuming it is dead, is there any (less expensive)...

    Humidity Sensor...

Yeah, I thought so. No, I'm not getting any Humidity readings at all. I did notice that the sensor serial number for both the solar and humidity are the same. I am getting the sensor just fine, just no humidity. I will check with Michael on the software. Thanks Gary

    Humidity Sensor...

Eric, I have your combo Temp, Humidity, Solar sensor. I havent gotten a reading from the Humidity sensor since 9/6. The Temp & solar seem fine and report every poll cycle. Any reason you can think of that the humidity circuit has just stopped reporting? Thanks Gary

    Reading the Barometer

Thanks Eric, problem solved. Yes, your right I did get that printout with my barometer. Unfortunately, I didnt pay enough attention to what it was telling me. Too much time passed for my feeble mind between the time I put that sheet away, and the time I needed to enter the parameters into...

    Reading the Barometer

Well that may be the source of my confusion regarding getting a meaningful pressure reading from my Barometer. I know you calibrated my barometer before it shipped, so do I need a software slope (i.e. altitude) adjustment? (Up to this point I have assued a slope of 1.) But what about the...

    Reading the Barometer

Eric, I must be doing something wrong. When I go to the referenced page, it shows four text boxes (name, altitude-644, pressure low-28 & pressure high-32). No submit or enter button. How do these values give the slope & intercept values? Thanks Gary

    Wind Instrument readings...

Thanks much Eric. With that formula, Windspeed seems to be an average of the speed over the polling period. The shorter the polling period, the closer to the "current" windspeed at the time of the reading. Currently I have Michael's SW set to poll every 5 minutes. I believe there is only one...

    Wind Instrument readings...

I assume that is the number the software is looking for. Just wanted to be sure what the WI was supposed to deliver before going to Michael. Thanks. His documentation states "the defaults are 2 counts per mile per hour for wind speed", but obviously there must be some math behind the scenes...

    Wind Instrument readings...

Eric, I have been testing my HB Wind Instrument using McSharry's 1Wire XAP software. Can you tell me what the calibration of rotation counts to mph should be specified? Couldn't find a number in the HB nor AAG documentation, but Michael's Xap documentation suggests 2 so I tried that, and then...

    Master Hub advice

Thanks for the info Snoopy. Now that I have the drivers installed, I can see the channel LEDs light briefly when they are being polled. I have all my sensors on Channel 1 Main & Aux and that LED does indeed stay on much longer. Like you say, when the sensors are being read. Gary

    Master Hub advice

Eric, If you don't mind I would like to ask a follow-up to Snoopy's question regarding the 4 Leds on the Master Hub. The power led comes on when power is supplied, but when do the other Leds come on? Thanks Gary

    Barometer Placement...

Interesting! About 12 months ago, when we were finalizing the plans for our new house we had them remove the fireplace. They gave us a lot of flack over that and actually had to PAY THEM ($1.00) to do so. So, no chimney to affect the pressure. Thanks for the enlightenment Guy. Gary

    Barometer Placement...

As always, amazingly quick response Eric. Thanks much. In the closet it is. Gary
