    Happy Birthday TechTooth!

The SoundBug works OK but the volume is very low and the sound quality is far from great, seems to depend on what song is being played (not bad at all with "No woman no cry", disapointing with "Mr Tambourine man"). I only have 1 tho, so can only get mono. I might have to get another as this will...

    HDTV question...

Just remembered, if you did get the second adapter you wouldn't be able to use the DVI cable that you took a pic of. Being a DVI-D cable it won't transfer the analog signal.

    HDTV question...

If you are still considering the adapter, either one will work. The one I linked to uses a VGA cable and the one you linked to needs a DVI cable. The first is $8 cheaper tho, and does work as I use it for exactly that. If you're going for the card, fair enough, might be better than your SE...

    Occasional posting problem

Thanks for the feedback guys. I think I can live with it as long as it works when I preview. It does say server or DNS error at the bottom of the page. I'm going to visit friends till monday (bank holiday here in the UK) and won't be taking my laptop so I'm not gonna be back online for a few...

    Occasional posting problem

Not sure about the filtering, I'm at my parents' home until I can move into the flat I am in the process of buying. So, not in charge of the router. Thanks for the kind words and sorry I haven't been around at CocoonTech recently, got alot of stuff going on with property stuff and looking for...

    Occasional posting problem

Nothing special. If I am the only one getting this problem, I suspect it is the dodgy Netgear router in this house. It is true that I haven't tried to post from here before the problem started. So the problem is probably on my side, frustrating tho. One strange thing is that it doesn't seem...

    Occasional posting problem

Over the last few days, after having written a reply to a thread, I hit the "post answer" button then get a "Page cannot be diplayed" error. I've then lost what I wrote  , re-write the whole thing again (usually save it somewhere else at this point) and chances are same thing will happen...

    HDTV question...

Having read through most of your TV manual and not having found any limitations on your DVI input or anything about "choosing" between interlaced and progressive (must have been misleading info that I found yesterday), I gotta admit smee and electron's conclusion is the most likely. Anyway...

    HDTV question...

Do you have any monitors that have DVI inputs? It might be a good idea to check if the problem is the output. I'm going to try to find the TV manual online and see if I can find more info on the "choosing" between progressive and interlaced.

Sorry, first paragraph in quote is irrelevant, I tried to edit it but for some reason it won't let me.

    HDTV question...

I may have found something, I got this from www.tweakguides.com: Under your graphic card properties, go to "Options" then; Here is a link to the full guide. I realize that you will already know 90-95% of the stuff they say here, but you may find a few useful "tweaks" particularly to do with...

    HDTV question...

That's a dual link DVI-D cable (best type IMO), so forget about all I wrote on cables. Doesn't seem like a HDCP prob either. I gotta go out now (6:45pm in the UK) and won't be back till late, but I'll check the specs tomorrow and get back to you.

    TV suggestions

If you haven't yet decided on flat-screen, check out this HD-ready 27" CRT: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1099392081898 Insignia is Best Buy's private label, and trust me they are not going to be taking risks as far as quality is concerned. They test this stuff way more...
