Don't quite under stand why you would go though the trouble of dimming CFLs...... You get energy saving and extended bulb using incandescent but you have none of the headaches with CFLs
I use anyDVD and CloneDVD to rip and backup my movies then I use Handbrake to convert them to the format I want. Right now I have all my moves ripped as video_TS files and I use MYDVDs to play them it Media center or I us VLC player. All my movies are ripped with 5.1 surround sound.
Yes the encoders have built in motion detection, you can setup multi window motion detection on each port. This saves a lot of processing power on the server. Now none analytic motion detection is only effective with constant lighting conditions. If you plain to us video motion detection...
Well the main reason I recommended the Axis server is, he was talking about IP cameras and price. If he goes with the encoder now he will have the NVR software so if or when he upgrades to IP cameras he will not lose any money. If he goes with the DVR card now you will have to buy the software...
Well good outdoor network cameras are not cheap. Axis has the 225FD dome camera $1099 but no WiFi and you need 12/24V power for the housing. This is the case for most high end network cameras. You need the camera and a housing with a separate power supply for the housing. ACTi and Vivotek...
OK that is fine. I just thought it was odd that I could control some of the tstat features but could not set the temp. I will be getting the full version soon.

I just installed the software on my tablet PC and it works great. Only problem I see is when I click on Climate my Tstat shows up but heat/cool setpoint and current temp is 0. I can turn the fan on/off and hold on/off but I get no feedback on the software. I do see a response on the tstat...
