BMW Universal Transmitter and X10 question

Where is the X10 receiver in relation to the car? The BMW universal transceiver range is dismal at best with reports of interference with steel garage doors. There's a mod you can do involving aluminum foil that can extend the range up to 300ft. Here are the instructions on how to program their...

Suggestions for a high quality vcr

I think you're overanalyzing the situation. VHS only has 240 lines or so of resolution. You don't need a fancy VCR with s-video... a nice 75-ohm composite cable hooked up to a 10 year old Sony will do. You will however need a high quality capture card. The cheap ones tend to lose audio sync...

    Digitallife Show in NYC

I wasn't really impressed with the show. I went there during my lunch break, got my bracelet and hand stamped, then proceeded to the Tivo booth on the floor and saw a huge line gathering.. there is no way I have the patience to wait that long. B) The people at the booths didn't seem very...

Any of you guys kids use these?

When I was 15, we didn't have cell phones or text messaging, we had to put in our hard earned 25cents if we wanted to talk to our friends. We had to surf AOL 2.5 on blazing 33.6kbps modems. Kids today.... ;) :D Actually, I don't mind text messaging, as long as it's short and simple. My wife...

    video distribution

Well.. you'd need a multiswitch to combine the SAT and CATV signals, and split to their individual RG6. After it goes upstairs, use diplexers to split up the SAT/CATV signals to their respective receivers.

Is this camera deal too good to be true.

The contact address screams shady. Never buy electronics from unknown, small stores in NYC, especially from Brooklyn. 90% of the time, these storefronts are used as a disguise for a drug dealer's office.

    Router, Fax, & Print server?

    1. Plugging your Epson into the USB 1.0 is fine, plus you'd still get to keep the all-in-one features which a print server would defeat. 2. You can try something like WinFax which receives faxes and then forwards it to email, but you'd still need a dedicated number to receive faxes. eFax is...

Isn't this a pretty good deal.

Ordering from Dell Home and Small Business have been relatively painless for me, even stacking up big coupons. Getting an english speaking CSR from tech support is another story.
