Initially, these devices were pretty disappointing. I purchased them when they were first released, with BETA firmware. Ignoring the huge physical size, my biggest issue was battery consumption, even when in battery mode.
It uses 2 CR123A batteries, which isn't typical, and depending on activity, they can deplete really quick. I gave up on them until I realized I can power these with a simple USB power source.
Now that I no longer need to worry about batteries, I'm pretty happy with them, plus they can act as repeaters.
