Hi,
I'd like to know if anyone has experienced with 3M window film, in particular I'm interested in the ones to reduce glare as well as heat.
Originally I was thinking of the Prestige Series 70, which is clear pretty much with no tinting at all. I had a guy in today to give me an estimate and he recommended the Night Vision 35 which can reduce glare significantly as well as more heat control.
The house has a very large front window for both living room and bedroom, and it's cooking during the daytime and to make it worse, the front of the house is facing west!
Here's a link to the 3M site about various types of films:

It's going to be about $1000 to cover all front windows, installed. I can probably do the installation myself to bring the cost down, but I really like the idea of not covering the windows with drapes or blinds if not absolute necessary.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
