4 Port Hub with Wireless?

I'm talking to someone who has a router in their upstairs and they have a wire running to the basement. They want me to relocate their router to the basement so that they can get a better wireless signal in the basement. I was thinking that they could just as a Hub in the basement intstead and I am looking for a 4 port hub with wireless also.

Does such a thing exist? All I see online is wireless routers. Do they make a hub with wireless? If not would it be too complicated to do this with a router?

Use a router and put it in access point mode.

Hubs are the devil!

What they call a router today basically requires:

DHCP client for WAN side
DHCP server for LAN side

and usually a firewall and an integrated switch.

To make a router a switch most have a bridge mode or something to that effect.

You want something like this:

link to 4 port switch with WAP

I do this all the time with friends and myself. In case the router doesn't offer "access point" mode, do the following:

1) plug the cable into one of the LAN ports, not the WAN port, this will effectively disable the router firewall
2) setup the router/wireless not to use DHCP
3) assign an IP address, make sure you don't use the default. If the router uses 192.168.1.1, you can use 192.168.1.2. If you leave the default IP, chances are they share the same IP and you'll have a conflict
