Haiku Access Control and Haiku app unlocking

I have an Omni Pro II with HAI access control and magnetic lock. Keycards presented at the exterior card reader unlock the door for 3 seconds, and a request to exit button on the interior also releases it for 3 seconds.

If I use the unlock button under access control in the Haiku app, it asks for user code and unlocks the door—but never relocks it the way it does by default when using a key card. I can manually relock the door by following the same procedure (hit lock button in Haiku, enter user code, door locks).

How can I instruct Haiku to follow the parameters configured for the access control (unlock time, exit time, fail safe/fail secure, etc) the same way the card reader itself does?

There is no way to instruct it to follow the parameters I think, but we could add options to unlock for a few different time values. HaikuHelper already has this. The other way would be to add automation logic to auto re-lock, but that's a bit more complex.

It's not a make-or-break feature, but I'm still not clear why an "unlock" command from the Haiku app, wouldn't be treated in the exact same manner as an "unlock" command activated by presenting an authorized key card at the door's card reader.

Also, I need to double check to confirm this, but when unlocking the door using the app's button + code, it doesn't register in the event log the way that a key card does.

For the purposes of access control, an "unlock" command from the app should be treated in an identical manner to the way an authorized key card is treated.

It should be, however the way HAI seems to implement it on the controller does not allow it to work this way from remote devices.

How do you communicate with HAI's engineers to discuss issues like this? It seems to me we could all benefit from a way of bringing installers/developers/manufacturers together to solve some of these problems.
