I will gladly buy you a few round of beer if you can help me resolve this
.
We have a CCTV system running a Kodicom software that we built ourselves. We can access the server with the client center software, pda center software and webdvr. However we can only do this when all the computers are behind the router and using internal ip. My goal is to simply access the kodicom server from remote using the external ip of my dsl modem. Access either with center software or webdvr.
Here is the setup.
Actiontec dsl modem (GT701) from Qwest - running DHCP
Got a Linksys wireless router conntected to the actiontec as a wireless access point.
The kodicom box got a wireless nic with ip 192.168.1.111
As I said above, everything is working perfectly when all the PCs are behind router.
I have dynamic ip with Qwest. I can deal with this problem.
So for example ext. ip is 75.185.75.69
What I have done with no luck:
1. I turn off all firewall/security on the linksys to be sure I don’t have two layers of security.
2. DMZ the kodicom box 192.168.1.111
3. forwarded a bunch of ports to 192.168.1.111
4. Changed the network ip for the kodicom box (main control 8080 to 9090). You have to change the ip on the client center software to match. Again can only access server with internal ip. The web dvr actually will not connect unless it’s on 8080. I have not found a place to change that yet.
Of course when I test, I’m using a pc that’s behind the router. So in the site setup I use the ext ip number.
Server site is v413p2
Client center is v413p2
Center pda is v1.003
Again, thanks for all your help.
