The early bird gets the worm... deal has expired.

Thanks John- I think I just got in under the wire. had to wait a while, but eventually I got the webpage to give me a serial!

I just went to here and filled it out, and now I have a registration key.

dunno what the personal edition does, but they encourage you to upgrade to the home edition. Hopefully the personal edition is useful.

Yet another piece of software added to my arsenal of unused software.

Beelzerob! Acronis rocks - you should at least give it a try (since it was free) ... It can make "image Based" backups and restores whole drives / partitions with ease. I have been using it since version 7 and have upgraded as far as 9. Anyhow - some have had problems with it depending on their hardware but I use it successfully on a handful of machines.

So...

Did anyone actually get the software to download?

I was not able to get the software to complete it's download...BUT I was able to get an install code.

It's kind of annoying...like having 20 gallons of gas and no car.

I got it to download, but it seems like a pretty crippled version. I can't find anyplace to schedule a backup, and it doesn't seem to have incrementals. I'll be going back to my old version shortly, unless someone can tell me I'm dope and show me where these switches are.

Then I'll stick with my version 7 I've been using...

No sense in killing myself for that. I use the incrementals all the time.

At my last job, they had a few PCs setup to dump themselves as they shutdown. It was pretty neat. Kind of like XP restore...but the entire system was copied / incremented. I don't know what version they were using. I never saw that "switch" for that option on my version 7. Oh well!
