Anyone going to CEDIA?

Anyone going to Cedia & up for drinks? I suppose we could pretend we're going to eat dinner too. I'm working the Vidabox booth. I'm wheels-down @7:30pm on Wed, and wheels up @8:30am on Sunday, so Thu & Fri are the only possible days for me.

How do people obtain access to CEDIA, if not through an employer?

I had a very generous offer from a vendor, and may take him up on it, but I was wondering if there are other creative means.

Neurorad, there's always ways to get around it but, the CEDIA show is meant for those in the industry. The "open" show for consumers is CES.

I'll not be attending this year. Normally I would but the economy (specifically, the one in my wallet) isn't normal this year. Besides, vendors are dropping out and I predict it's gonna be a slow, boring year. It's too bad. Atlanta has my favorite airport. There's a smoking section approx. every 14 feet...

I only live about 2 hours from Atlanta. It would be pretty neat to swing by. But I really hadn't considered it before.

I'll be there. Let's figure out a time to get together!

Man, the last time I hung out with you, I was literally escorted out of the bar.

Hmmm, ok, yeah, i'm in! I'll bet THursday is a bigger party day (for me) than Friday, but you never know. What day do you prefer?

Yeah, I remember that. Maybe Atlanta doesn't have the same rules in bars as that place did.....

I'll check the schedule for the days.

Got 2 recommendations from a local buddy:

1) IF we want to walk from the convention center: Stats - A sports bar owned by people from the local sports talk radio
show. Never been there. I think it gets a good crowd. Walking distance
(http://www.statsatl.com/home.php_

2) If willing to take a taxi - Vortex - 2 locations. may need to take a taxi -- not sure. Love this place. The Little Five Points location is funkier. (http://www.thevortexbarandgrill.com/)

Any thoughts? I'll ask over on remotecentral too, as there's likely more folks there going.

FWIW, i'm staying @the DoubleTree in BuckHead (several MARTA stops & 1 transfer away). Hence I have no issue with taking a taxi.

let's meet at the integrationspros.com party on Thursday night. That way maybe Martin will pick up a few new clients to boot...

$30.00 per person, the party will be Thurs at 9:30 at Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant Midtown 848 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30308
