Anyone Using Omnistat2 Z-Wave or Zigbee?

I have seen the advertisement for HAI's new Omnistat2 RF thermostats but have not came across any postings of installer feedback. Which leads me to wonder if they are actually shipping yet. Anybody?

The Omnistat line uses Z-Wave in conjunction with the Leviton RZC0P serial interface. The Omnistat2 line will use Zigbee. From the Omnistat2 line, only the RC-2000 is shipping. The Zigbee piece is not shipping yet.

i think the Omnistats looked horrible IMO. the cutouts for the buttons look cheesy. on the z-wave end i would rather use a rcs tz40 or these guys are currently working on a z-wave model, although they don't have an ETA yet. the rcs use the standard z-wave thermostat command class so most any z-wave controller that supports this functionality should be able to control it.

I THINK he is talking about the new 2. They already look dated and cheesey to me too. They sure dont look high tech and cutting edge. Back to the drawing board on that one, who approved that design? Youre fired!

sorry all but i was actually talking about the original line. looking at the 2 line i am still not impressed. there is definitely some improvement, especially with the dial now but i still like the tz40 better and the radio thermostats have a nice design also IMO. and i'm not even throwing in the aprilaire 8870...just waiting for an affordable touchscreen thermostat with HA capabilities via rs232, z-wave, etc. some IP zip code weather info along with the temp would be nice. a scrollable touchscreen like an iphone for 5-7 day forecast would be a nice addition too. capacitive touchscreen are becoming more and more affordable these days. something more mainstream than a crestron/amx solution.

Listen,

Get the remote sensor for the thermostats and put them in the closet. You aren't going to control it from anything but your HA system so why put it out in the open. If you can move the thermostat wiring (which I assume you can if you can wire it to your HA system) put it somewhere else.

I think the entire idea of a thermostat is ugly and silly.
